Just in time for the holidays, the 7th grade has been working hard to put together a few exercise videos using the balance balls and resistance bands. Take a look and work along with them! It's a great way to keep in shape over the holidays!

Parachute fun and Playground Fitness

Take a look at our first graders as they do various parachute activities. Ask them about popcorn, carousel, making a tent and a mountain. They also got to play the color game!
Then it was time for some "Playground Fitness." How many different ways can you use the playground equipment to build muscle? Lots of interesting activities!

K-1 grade: Students concentrate on motor skills such as throwing, catching and kicking. They also practice locomotor movements that include skipping, galloping, jumping, hopping, sliding, walking and running. Students are encouraged to use good sportsmanship and to follow safety rules in class.

2 - 3 grade: Students continue to work on skills used in various sports. They begin to learn basic rules, and participate in lead up games that are a precursor to regular team sports. Students are encouraged to use good sportsmanship and to follow safety rules.

4 - 5 grade: Students are introduced tomore organized sports and begin to learn the rules of various activities more in-depth. Students are beginning to understand the team sport concept and working together. Sportsmanship is emphasized, as well as having good character and encouraging classmates.

6 - 8 grade: Students are put into game situations after learning rules and reviewing skills needed to participate. Good character and sportsmanship is emphasized.
